About Us!

The Old Vicarage is a registered, small, family-owned care home in Cumbria, which offers residential and day care for the elderly. Nestled on a quiet country lane in the village of Allithwaite, it is Ideally located, being only 20 minutes from Junction 36 of the M6, and is also accessible via the West Coast Railway line. We are within close proximity to the majestic Morecambe Bay and the breathtaking beauty of the Lake District.

We provide long-term, and respite care for people who require care which may include living with dementia/aspects of confusion and/or physical frailties.

Our South Lakes care home is a beautiful Victorian house with later additions, overlooking and within easy access to Saint Mary's Church; set within a quarter of an acre of maintained, mature gardens, which include an orchard. We have sixteen rooms of which thirteen are single, three are double and six are en-suite. Our three double rooms are ideal for married couples.

We have successfully provided care for over twenty years at The Old Vicarage Care Home.
